I think that there is some seduction of the victims and the way that they are victimized involves penitration/fluid transfer and looks sexual. The whole turning someone into a vampire things kind of smacks of STDs… or maybe of putting a spell on someone through love/sex. I’m sure there’s even more to it, but that’s the really obvious stuff. Don’t vampire movies and books feel sexual to you? If they do, it’s because they are.

The only true vampires are bats (which do not occur in the U.S.) They do bite their victims (usually animals) and lap up some of the blood that comes out of the wound. Any tales that humans change into bats or the reverse is just superstition and hype which has been promoted by movies and story books. The bats don’t care what sex their food source is as long as it is warm blooded. I think the sex angle has been created by story writers who like to show the "weak female" being attacked or scared by the unknown monster.

History channel did a special on vampires and also spoke briefly about the very phenomenon you are speaking of. The whole vampire scene seems to me to be one big orgyfest full of misfits with tons of sexual desire they can’t do anything with… the actual stories about vampires are entertaining but the people whom call themselves vampires and are apart of the vampire scene are really pathetic.
